Introduction to Treasury Management is delivered by an investment specialist with over 30 years of experience in institutional fund management and investment banking.

In 2010, he founded Frontier-Invest Ltd, providing consultancy and transaction advisory services to companies, particularly in the raising and structuring of private equity and venture capital in international markets.

Starting his investment career with Ivory & Sime, he managed equity portfolios for institutional clients. This expert subsequently joined Cazenove Fund Management, where he ran Global Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific funds. In 2007, he was recruited to a specialist firm that ultimately became UBA Capital, the Investment Banking subsidiary of one of Africa’s largest banks, where he acted as Global Head of Research.

Our corporate treasury training lead has a deep understanding of portfolio construction and management through the investment cycle. Having worked through numerous business and economic cycles and a variety of developed and emerging-market crises, he has learned invaluable investment lessons in both difficult environments and good times.

In addition to extensive hands-on experience in treasury and financial markets, our trainer holds a Master’s degree from Edinburgh University, and accountancy and economics qualifications awarded by the Chartered Institute of Bankers.

A fluent multilingual speaker, he has successfully delivered specialist training programmes in both English and French to delegates across Europe, Africa and Asia, working with professionals from a wide range of banking, corporate and financial institutions. Combining strong academic credentials with significant international training expertise, he is highly regarded for his ability to explain complex treasury, banking and financial concepts in a practical, engaging and commercially relevant manner, making him a sought-after facilitator for organisations seeking high-quality treasury management training.

This treasury management training course offers an introduction and overview of the relevant functions and instruments. Sessions suit participants new to the topic and professionals with experience in a specific area but lacking an overall view of the subject. Course focus ensures you have a complete practical understanding of core concepts, which can form the basis for further advanced, in-depth technical studies.

Sessions examine treasury management from both banking and corporate perspectives, providing participants with a well-rounded understanding of the challenges, responsibilities, and decision-making processes faced across different treasury functions.

To ensure concepts are both practical and applicable, training incorporates a range of interactive class exercises, real-world case studies and facilitated group discussions. These elements help translate what can often be a highly theoretical and technical subject into meaningful business scenarios, enabling participants to build confidence in applying treasury principles within their own organisations. The result is an engaging, commercially focused learning experience and immediate value for those seeking comprehensive corporate treasury training.

Treasury management training is designed for professionals seeking a comprehensive understanding of treasury operations, financial markets and the processes underpinning the main treasury and investment products used across banking and corporate environments. Sessions provide valuable insight into how treasury functions operate in practice, helping participants develop both technical knowledge and commercial awareness.

Whether you have recently joined or are planning to join a banking institution, financial services organisation or corporate treasury department, this programme provides a strong foundation for developing treasury knowledge and understanding key market functions. Sessions are equally valuable for more experienced professionals seeking to broaden their understanding of treasury activities, strengthen their appreciation of how different treasury functions interact, and gain a more complete view of treasury operations, making it an ideal introduction to treasury management.

Redcliffe’s comprehensive treasury management training course provides a practical introduction to the core principles and functions of modern treasury operations. Over two intensive days, participants explore treasury management fundamentals, including the term structure of interest rates, asset and liability management, liquidity considerations and treasury-related risk management.

Day two builds on these foundations by examining the role, purpose and practical application of key financial instruments used within treasury functions. Sessions focus on money markets, fixed-income products, derivatives, and options, helping participants understand how these instruments are used to manage funding requirements, interest rate exposure, liquidity, and financial risk in a corporate treasury training environment.
